Generally sound comes on-board and the inputs are on the motherboard itself where the other connections reside. If for some reason this is not, a sound card is needed. The owner will need to identify internally what slots the motherboard has (such as PCI-E x1, x16, etc). The appropriate sound card is purchased & is installed into that slot. Best Buy does offer hardware installation.

It will will only fit in the right slot and it’s as simple as installing it and turning your pc on and installing the software from the cd that came with it or the current software from the asus website.
