“The monitor comes with both HDMI and Display port cables. Do you need to connect both to the computer, or is one of them enough? My computer has a couple HDMI ports, but no Display port.”

You only need to plug in one for it to work; however, to maximize the refresh rate DisplayPort is the cable to use. HDMI maxes at 144Hz while DisplayPort maxes at 165Hz. I would recommend buying a DisplayPort to usb cable.
