Battery life depends on how the laptop is used. After four hours of streaming a football game while casually browsing the web, I had 78% battery life remaining. I agree that the CPU runs hot - this is well-known with AMD CPUs. At 25% sustained processor utilization, my CPU temperature ranged between 80 and 85 degrees celsius, which while within specification, is somewhat concerning. The cooling system appears to do its job.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The battery life on this laptop is not really good. Definitely wouldn't last 6 hours on 1 charge. Laptop runs extremely hot when running programs. I'm in the process of getting an outside cooler. Laptop is also heavy. The power adapter is also in a weird location, on the left side in the middle, easy to break.

There are two issues here-- 1 - The battery "only" puts out about 90 watts. This has to be shared with the GPU and the CPU. When gaming, both need the max amount that the battery can not supply. 2 - When you are just using "casual" browsing or steaming, you use just the main CPU and not using the GPU accelerator. Using just the "main chip" will save a lot of power and the battery will last so much longer. This is why the question of "how long will battery last" is so complicated. Cooling - This laptop has a great cooling system and will adapt for all situations. The fans will be noticeable, but not as much as you think. Keep in mind that if you are using the cooling fans, that means that you are using a lot of energy...which will "shorten" the battery life. I think this laptop would be an excellent choice for you.
