Yes it does. I just bought this laptop and also bought the Corsair 32GB DDR5-4800 SODIMM that is sold here on BestBuy and installed it. System shows full 40GB. There is also a 48GB single SODIMM DDR5-4800 by Crucial if you wanted maximum RAM. It's pricey though.
