Can the ram be upgraded? null

The max RAM Support Memory+(On Board Memory) is 16 GB.

the plastic backing seems VERY DIFFICULT to remove. I unscrewed everything and gave up trying to pry it off, fearing I may break the plastic backplate. Also, 4GB of RAM is soldered to the motherboard so filling the one open RAM slot will prevent dual channel support. THEREFORE, it's impossible to fill it with 16GB, the closest you could do is 4GB onboard + 8GB RAM stick = 12GB of memory.
