Definitely would recommend it. I just purchased this laptop because I just started m first year of college, and the laptop is quick. I've had it for about a month and it doesn't lag/crashes. I think it would be perfectly fine for her playing Sims. Battery life is great, after fully charging it, battery lasts for about 5 hours for me. Lightweight so she can carry it anywhere.
