I bought this laptop for my 16 year old for school, and so far she has not reported having any problems with it. The Asus laptops with regard to the screen resolution always stands out.

I am very happy that my laptop included Windows 10. I love Cortana and am adjusting to windows 10 from XP. It is very easy to operate and big enough for my big hands. The large screen makes it very easy to see. It is very fast.

Right out of the box, my new laptop started losing the wifi signal. I got a new router from Verizon. Still loses signal.

This is priced in the netbook range but is capable of running the MS Office suite, which is a plus for working out of the office. Lightweight, and I like that the charger is also compact and light. Screen resolution is pretty good. Speed bogs down when you have lots of tabs and apps open. Comes with the usual assortment of unnecessary programs pre-installed. Keyboard is responsive and having the full numeric keypad is nice. Speaker volume is low, so if you want to watch video, etc. spend the extra on some USB speakers with a volume control. Overall it is not high powered but a good value for the price.

These laptops are lightweight, and pretty snappy for the specs. We purchases four and use them for web browsing and PowerPoint presentations. I think any more intensive task might bog it down, especially with only 4gb Ram. Haven't checked to see how accessible that is to upgrade. Putting an SSD in here would also help. The processor is a newer pentium and claims to be an ultra low power quad core, which is interesting. It comes with a power supply that looks more like it could be for a tablet, and also has a USB-C port which I assume you could use for charging as well. Has VGA and HDMI output, which is great. For $300 (or $225 openbox) it's a steal!

This is our first laptop! Did some research and decided this fit into our price range. If I could improve one thing, it would be battery life. We leave it plugged in most of the time, but on occasion, we unplug and use it on the couch/chair. The battery is good for just a little over 3 hours. We are still getting use to the touchpad (we are over 65 and touchpads are foreign to us. Overall, it has worked well for us and we are happy with it.

Isn't comparable to HP as promised

I was in immediate need to replace a computer that had been hacked by someone I knew, so I asked the Sales Associate for the best recommendation around the same price. I was told it was almost exactly comparable as the one I was replacing, only faster. I didn't think to ask if it had a number pad, because the HP didn't. I had gotten used to working around it but the keyboard was slightly different, so when I brought this Asus home, I had to "relearn" the keyboard. I'm a seasoned typist, so it's not about just hunt and peck. I type quickly and need to have keys "where they should be." Also, the touchpad is "off center" to the keyboard, so every attempt to "left click," is met with the "right click button" and slows me down tremendously. Add the fact that it turns off (without restarting) randomly, loses WiFi connection if left on (or off), even though the settings are correct, and doesn't have other features that I was looking for. It doesn't "automatically connect," even with the correct options in place. I didn't want "more" or "bigger," just "the same." After all was said and done (quickly), I wasn't informed that there was a "learning curve." Luckily (I suppose), I go through laptops quite quickly, so it's just a matter of time before this one dies -- usually just after the warrantee and service plans expire, because it's cheaper to buy a new one than to renew those services. I'm almost considering having someone "repair" the HP and selling (or donating) this one to someone who just needs "simple" things. For me, it's just a headache.

I purchased one for both my son and I and I have zero complaints. My son uses it for school and I use it for general personal purposes. We are not gamers so I cannot provide feedback in that regard but I can say my son enjoys streaming movies on it and has zero complaints also. Great value for the money spent on it. I now understand why all my tech friends highly recommended Asus products as well as many reviews I read online before making my purchase. Mind you I was originally in the market for a Lenovo Thinkpad, which is an excellent product, however it was more machine than I truly needed and I saved a TON of money buying this unit instead. I highly recommend it to anyone as their first laptop or for students. Would definitely buy one as a gift.

This is a great laptop for under $400. It's not a blazing fast gaming machine, but it's not a bad little productivity machine. I bought it for my son who uses it for schoolwork, movie watching, and light gaming.

The laptop is good. I like the power button and sleep mode. The touch pad seems a bit off but part of that could be me adjusting to a touch pad. I would recommend a wireless mouse for sure. Do not use a corded one unless you're a lefty. I miss having a card reader on the pc itself, but adapters are cheap. Exterior finish scratches pretty easily so make sure to get a cover for this one. I still hate windows 10.

Inexpensive, reliable, and user-friendly. Definitely good for people on a budget. The display was excellent, touchpad responsive, and battery life great. Webcam quality was superb. Only cons/negatives were not being as quick as I wanted, but again if you're not a power-user and just need something to get by, then this is the laptop for you.

I bought this laptop to replace a Microsoft VISTA machine that was still working but, wasn't being supported anymore and was pretty slow and buggy. The price was so attractive and it was Microsoft 10. I already had a Microsoft 10 tablet but, the screen was small and touchscreen wasn't ideal for learning the new operating system. This laptop had a nice big screen and made using Microsoft 10 easier and more predictable and easy to learn. It starts up very fast and so far, has done everything I need very well. It's made using my tablet easier now also because I understand the operating system better. Don't know about games cause I don't use them but, youtube, WORD, Excel, email, netflix, etc. has been very good. Sound is good. Great deal for the money.

The other reviews said this is a slow computer. They are correct. The resolution on the monitor is not as good my larger HP monitor that cost almost as much as this computer. However, the computer is pretty much what I expected for the price. I bought the computer to only use for certain secure, on line transactions and it is plenty good enough for that.
