• These are routers, so one is connected to my modem, and then two the mesh are set up in other locations.

• One of the devices in the pack will act as the main router (if you choose to configure in router mode) and the other two devices will be remote nodes. If you choose to use the devices in AP mode, they will all act as simple access points along with your existing router.

• No, these Mesh routers does not need a separate router to connect to, any of these routers can be setup as the main router and the rest as nodes.
