• I set up to a modem, I don't use my carriers router. Is your Xfinity a router / modem combination? It might be possible to connect to the existing wifi but I didn't try that as I wanted to swap out my old router for this set up

• Yes, this Mesh system work with an Xfinity router, no need to buy a separate Asus router along with the mesh system. One of these routers can be setup as your main Mesh router.
