“I've entered the number to be blocked and when they call they are blocked. If I am on the phone talking to someone and the number blocked calls I hear the entire screening message and so does the person I am talking too. Is this a defect?”

I'm not sure. My wife bought this phone. She entered about 24 numbers into the directory that she would take calls from and she loves this phone. She get's a call and if it is not in the directory the person has to say there name and hit the pound sign. If she want's to answer she presses the number 1 button. She love's this phone she has already blocked several 800 numbers and we haven's seen them again.
