Can this phone be directly plugged into a computer null

It Might, but I don't think it will go in directly to the computer. I have an ATT Universe System at my house, This phone is wired into my house's phone wiring system. I noted there is a green wire to the modem, and a white wire also in the modem, these wires go to a wall outlet and pass through the wall, outside a white wire goes to an ATT Box that was installed when the ATT universe system was installed, This box ties into my house's prewired phone system. If I have a power failure, all of my phones will be dead. I then have to use a cell phone to notify the power company of the failure.
