• Greetings! I would say yes. I have this same telephone hooked up to an external answering machine and have the actual answering machine installed on the phone turned to off. I hope this answered your question.

• I purchased this phone for the same reason. The facility uses Spectrum cable network, I was told it would work but I had to purchase a DSL filter separately. It was less than $10 with Amazon.
