A:AnswerOur phone has a button that reads, "Play/Stop." Pressing that button causes the message recorded on the phone's answering machine to play.
We experienced problems when setting up the answering machine part of the phone. I had set the # of rings before the answering machine picks up to 6. I called from my cell phone & left a message on the house phone, but was unable to play it. It turns out the answering service through Verizon picks up after fewer than 6 rings, and puts the message in their system, which requires a dial in to obtain messages from Verizon. By changing the house phone's # of rings to 4, before messages go to the phone's answering machine, the problem was solved.
Best wishes with your phone. We love ours!
A:AnswerI bought the same phone and thought that would be the case with a long cord extension. Unfortunately the phone needs to be plugged into the wall so you can't walk around with it like you're imagining.. I do however have a long cord that goes from the receiver to the base and that gives me some room to move around.. Hope this helps!
A:AnswerYou can wall mount (piece included). You can turn off the answering machine at any time. DO NOT purchase AT&T phone w/out answering feature. You can not read the caller ID part, nor display; etc., all way too small, Waste of money,
A:AnswerIt is needed to operate the answering device, lighted LCD screen, and other features that a simple phone does not have. The small voltage and current that comes through a phone line isn't enough to power such features.
A:AnswerThis phone has both an audio assist button which temporarily increases the handset volume. We do not wear hearing aids but have used the easily accessed audio assist button to increase volume. It also has an "equalizer" button. Again easily accessible. This can alter bass or treble or set to natural mode. We've left ours set at natural but I presume if you have difficulty hearing certain sound ranges this might be helpful to you. We are very happy with this landline phone. Good price. Easy setup for speed dial; large tiltable lighted caller ID screen; oversized keypad for arthritic fingers. I can not think of any downside. No experience with hearing aid use however.
A:AnswerHit the menu button (select), then hit down arrow (call log) until you see "answering sys." Then hit "select" and hit the down arrow until you see "#of rings" and choose your preferred number and hit select.
A:AnswerCaller ID is from your phone company. Your phone company sends callerID information to your phone no matter what phone you have. It sends it. You just have to have a phone that accepts caller id which this one does. Also call-waiting callerid works too.
