• Yes. They are numbered Handset one, Handset two, etc. #1 goes with the answering base, and that is plugged into power and into my phone system (I buy phone service from Basic Talk, who sent me a free little machine). If you have say AT&T home phone lines, plug the one phone into that. Once I plugged the 2nd phone into the kitchen, it worked. No phone plug-in needed. It is similar to my last syetem, which lasted 10 years. Hubby will not carry a cell phone, so we use this for his calls.
