Honestly that totally depends on where you live. AT&T like most carriers in the U.S. do t provide very “high speed” cellular data connections. I think the national average is around 14mbps. This coupled with increased latency will have an impact on gaming. However, you could be very lucky and live in an area that does have high speed cellular. I would purchase the unit get it setup and run several tests during several days (weekdays and weekends) to see. If it’s too slow just return it with in the 14 day window.

My son plays quite a bit and the only thing he has complained about is the ping occasionally. You probably want to do a speed check with your phone to see what you are getting before buying.
