This is a mobile hotspot router. Itnuses ATT wireless to connect to the internet and the unit also acts as a router for up to 20 devices according to spec sheets. You will need an att data package for the unit to be able to use the mobile hotspot fumction, but can be used to share an existing connection as a router, example, hotel internet, to avoid using up your mobile data allowances.
