The AT&T SmartFlip is Locked to AT&T Prepaid for (at least) 6 months and must be activated on the AT&T network. NOTE: You can request that the phone be UNLOCKED after 6 months of usage, and could move it to a compatible network after doing so. Bought a pair of these for folks, with plans to move to another network after 6 months. Will check pricing at that time: found out that AT&T Prepaid has fairly competitive rates (at least on a per line basis with 2 phones...) so it might not be advantageous to move DEPENDING upon the level of service desired.
