• No. I use mine (multiple actually) about two or three times a year. The data plans are good for a month (don't use it all in a month, you lose it).

• We simply purchase new data cards at the pharmacy when the minutes are used up as we have multiple hot spots for our mobile based business and usage varies greatly by unit.
