“I want to use this for only DVD’s not CD. I want them to all stand up vertically. Are shelves adjustable so I can do this? How many DVD s will this unit hold doing it like this?”

Shelves are adjustable but it be better if you put it horizontally you can fit more movies that way. I also use it for movies

Each shelf holds 28 DVDs, and each unit has four shelves, so each unit holds about 112 DVDs. I also placed some DVDs on the top, supported by bookends (the kind that libraries use) to keep them from tumbling off.

It will end up holding about 25 - 28 DVD's (according to size) per shelf. Wiih 4 shelves, you can have about 100 - 110 DVD's per unit. Of course, the wider the DVD, the less you will be able to put on the unit.
