Height: 71.25 inches Width: 40 inches Depth: The base (bottom board only) is 9 inches, but the depth of the rest is only slightly under 6" [Think of the capital letter L shape} The shelves are adjustable, but only 4 3/4 inches deep. They hold DVD's great! The middle horizontal shelf is wider- slightly under 6", the same as the outside depth. [Think of it like a horizontal support beam across the middle] Visually you really don't notice the difference, but it's there for support. It looks good for the money. It's a particle board kit with a pressed back cover. It's not a solid wood. But I bought 2 & it does hold the DVD's just fine. It's not something that could stand up to kids climbing on it. If you have it on carpet, I would recommend (as does the manufacturer) securing it to a wall. Hope this helps.
