No, the AT-VMN95SH is a stylus ONLY, not a cartridge complete with stylus and it is for vinyl microgroove records only. The AT-VMN95SP is the correct stylus for 78 RPM shellac records as long as you currently own an AT-VM95 Series Cartridge. If you do not currently own a AT-VM95 Series cartridge, let us know what the make and model of your turntable is (or the make and model of the tonearm if the tonearm was purchased separately) and we will make a 78 RPM cartridge recommendation for it. Please contact us at [email protected] for further assistance.

The VMN95SP is a stylus that is definitely more rigid and bigger than the SH, which stands for Shibata, and is engineered for 33s and 45s to give a more immersive sound. The SH will die on a 78 and they're too expensive to do that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you must use a stylus designed for laquers. The SH (Shibata) will destroy your 78's. If Best Buy does not have the correct stylus, go to Audio Technica website.
