Q: QuestionCan the Audio-Technica - PRO 8HEx Hypercardioid Dynamic Microphone ( Model: PRO8hex SKU: 1031404) be used for recording in PowerPoint and Camtasia via my PC? Thanks
Asked by Lisa.
- A:Answer Yes, if you convert the connector from the 3-pin XLR male type output connector to 3.5mm mini-plug type output connector. I recommend the HOSA XVM Series of adapter cables to accomplish this as this adapter is specifically wired to put the mic audio, which is mono, on BOTH sides of the computers 3.5mm (1/8 inch) microphone jack which is a stereo jack. This is known as dual-mono. The mic audio will appear on both the Left and Right sides of the computers audio track.

Q: QuestionIf we are using two of these simultaneously (on the same computer) to do a live webinar... is there danger of feedback?
Asked by Jere.
- A:Answer Feedback is not necessarily related to how many microphones you use. As long as the microphones are kept a safe distance away from any loudspeakers which the mic audio is going through, there should not be a problem with feedback. Any additional gain experienced from using 2 versus 1 microphone will be minimal (2-3 dB). Perhaps the bigger issue for you is getting 2 microphones connected to the same computer. Most computers have only a single microphone input jack. You may need to use a microphone combiner or Mixer to properly bring the audio from both microphone into a single microphone input jack. Be aware that the PRO 8HEx has a standard 3-pin male XLR type output connector. We do make a version of the mic with a 3.5 mm type output connector. This is the PRO 8HEmW.
