• Yes. You need the newer cables that support 4K. It's not a gimmick to get you to spend more either. I just recently had to replace my cables. I tried the ones I have that are 6-7 years old and they're not compatible.

• Unfortunately, yes. The 4K HD can only be viewed with a compatible HDMI cable. Any other HDMI cable will provide lower quality picture. Hope this helps.

• Yes, if you are trying to go from one device to another and carry the 4K signal, you will need this cable.

• As long as the HDMI cable can handle at least 18gbps, it will carry a 4K/60 signal. However, due to the quality of the conductors, the insulation, the connectors and the method of termination, Ocean will give you better performance than a 'generic' HDMI cable.
