Could this work with an xbox one x null

I had to purchase this adapter because I was trying to connect a Sonos Speaker that has the new Optical Audio Cable to an Older TV with the Older Optical cable that has the connection similar to that of an Aux cable. Find and locate the Optical Audio output on the back of your TV, if it looks like a standard audio jack, then this adapter will work, however if your Optical Audio Output is the new one that looks like the shape attached, then you don't need to buy this.

As long as the XBox has the appropriate fiber optic jack, yes.
