“If I use 2.5" Vodka cables to connect my DirectTV box and 4K BlueRay to a Denon receiver but then use a Carbon HDMI to go from the receiver to the TV, am I going to the see the difference? Vodka cable not available in the length I need to go to the TV.”

Video quality shouldn't be affected. Sound quality yes only if you're using earc for sounds from the TV app, but small margin, but if using devices hooked onto receiver then there shouldn't be a difference.
