If you have an Apple TV (3rd or 4th gen), you may use Siri to access your lock remotely without an August Connect. It is also important to note that without the August Connect, our August app will not show you any remote capabilities as using your Apple TV goes through HomeKit. If you have a HomeKit app, Apple’s or a 3rd party, you will then be able to see remote status.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That's what I have and it's about 20 feet away. Works perfectly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need the latest Apple TV. In my experience Homekit works when I am away from home, but not when I am home (only Bluetooth works in that case). I can lock the August from work, but if I am home, I need to walk to the door in order to activate the lock. I hate that! My apple tv is upstairs in my bedroom, and it works.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It needs to be within Bluetooth range.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No - homekit is currently only supporting integration with the platform via WiFi. In order to use this bluetooth lock remotely you will need the August Connect to bridge your WiFi network with a bluetooth device.
