As a stand alone device, probably not. You will need the companion Connect Wi-Fi bridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Doubtful. Maybe if you hang your phone out the window. Mine has a range of maybe 20 feet with direct line of sign and any obstruction almost immediately cuts off the bluetooth connection. I am using a current flagship android phone and my girlfriend has a similar experience with her iPhone 6. I believe the connect module would allow you to lock and unlock your door from anywhere and eliminate this problem.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The distance may be too great it varies depending on your walls etc. I would say no based on my usage, but if others have a different experience I wouldn't be surprised. One day mine stayed connect almost 100' feet away while I was outside. Inside I would say 20' to 30' max line of sight no walls

Please try again later. No, in order for the August Smart Lock to work beyond an immediate Bluetooth range (10 feet or less), you would need to buy the August Wi-Fi bridge to convert the Bluetooth signals to Wi-Fi. I know this first-hand because my August Smart Phone app wouldn't work with the August Smart Lock from my master bedroom which is about 60 feet from my front door of my one level home. After buying the bridge, I can access the lock remotely or anywhere in my home with a slight delay in connectivity. I personally think that August purposely degrades the Bluetooth signal to prevent hacking thus my. Wi-Fi bridge which is 3 feet away from the front door lock has repeated trouble connecting (bluetooth signal is rated bcc as weak) even though the Wi-Fi signal is rated as strong. Other. Bluetooth devices have no problem with up to. a normal 33 feet range. Go figure.
