“Do you need WiFi for this to work in a business setting only (ie locking and unlocking front door for patrons) or can it function with just Bluetooth to ones phone?”

When I initially installed the August smart lock. I didn't set up the wifi to it. It worked OK without wifi. Ok meaning sometimes it would take a minute or so to lock and unlock the door. But worked so much better & quicker once I did link the wifi to it. I would advise linking to wifi weather for home or business.
