No, it's a bumper boat.. I have an above group pool and motor is enclosed in a cage and offset from the edge of the float. I would only be concerned with kids with long hair swimming under float getting caught in motor but I told my kids no swimming under it.

No. We have two. Pretty mild entertainment. The kids love them.
