No you cannot remove the cord. It’s permanently stationed, but this is my third generation & I love having the cord. I just hang it around my neck when I need to take them out and then pop em back in!

Please try again later.i believe it may sense which ear is listening independently. but the wire cannot be removed. this product is charged by lightning cord to the right earbud. and the left and right earbuds are hard wired together. power button on the left. volume and such on the right.
