A:Answer Pearl, you probably don't need this cable. What you probably would want instead is a regular USB-A to USB-B cable. These will have a rectangular connector on one end, and a square-ish connector on the other. The rectangular connector plugs into the laptop, and the square connector plugs into the printer. USB-A to USB-B cables are very common, so you should be able to find them for very little money.
This cable is needed if all you have available is a USB-C port. USB-C ports are fairly new, so unless you have a newer laptop, you may not have one.
