Works fine with my dish HD programming. I have router on one side of house and extender on the other. No problems home about 1700 square feet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The extender isn't made for super high performance. Streaming a directv box would maximize the usage you could get from the extender, thus your dropped connection.

The throughput on a wireless extender that connects via wireless back to the primary router is typically not sufficient for streaming, even low res video. My recommendation is to purchase another wireless router, connect the routers together on your LAN, placing the wireless routers where the outer range of the wireless overlaps enough for coverage using the lower channel on the primary and upper channel on the secondary wireless. When using three or more attempt to spread the channels out as much as possible.

I had the same problem with the Belkin Dual Band Range extender, it would keep dropping the connection every 5 minutes or so. I ended up buying a different brand extender and have had perfect results.
