• Macbook pros don't have a mini display port. Depending on what year macbook you have, you have to get the lightning adapter, or a usb c adapter.

• I don't use mine as my video card doesn't have mini-display ports, but just like HDMI, display ports, and USB ports, they're universal. I'm VERY sure if your macbook has a mini display port, it'll work just fine with it.
