• Hi, Kristin. As long as the laptop can support Mini Display Port-to-HDMI Adapter, it should work fine.

• I have an HP Latitude 5300 and it does not have a thunderbolt port; however it does have an HDMI Port and an HDMI to HDMI adapter would facilitate the necessary connection. Your HDMI cord will work if both ends have HDMI connectors.
