• I was able to set it up using my smart phone. You will need online access to set up but phone is enough. Takes about 5 minutes.

• Yes. It will work with your iPad, and it will work securely. That's one of the reason's I chose Belkin because even if someone resets the router, the default is to require encryption to allow connection.
