As a follow up, my IT department was able to install/update the Thunderbolt driver and all is good now. I'm able to utilize a Logitech unifying receiver as well as a web cam both connected to the dock now.

I have a dock and only have two monitors and a laptop connected to it. I had to insert the USB that came with my wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse directly into my laptop rather than into the dock. I consulted an IT staff person at work and he suspected that because the dock doesn’t have its own power source, it couldn’t support the additional USB for the laptop and mouse. All works fine now.
