Theoretically, you should have "up to" 300 feet of range. However, depending on how many walls, what they're made of, and other interference to the signals, you will have shorter range. However, if you can't pick up a signal from 25 feet, there's a serious problem.

What I mean is that if your WiFi router is on the first floor and your WiFi device is on the second floor, chances are you'll need to be right above the router to get a good signal. Also, it may be better now but I had a USB WiFi device before and because of the low power the signal distance was less than expected.
