I have a 3 year old desk top. My router is upstairs and I use this downstairs and the connection is excellent.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You should be able to get a signal through the two floors, especially if the desktop is directly above the router. The Desktop will have to be running a system this product supports (Windows XP and newer). And you'll get better performance if it has a newer USB type. I'd recommend USB 2.0 or better.
