• Yes, this will be just like your built in wireless, but will be plugged into the usb port instead. You may want to disable your onboard wireless card though, so there is less chance of any hardware interference.

• Yes, but it will be sticking out from one of your usb slots which can mean it can be easily broken. Have you tried looking for the replacement part the wireless adapters are rarely built into the board but are built as an add on
