“I want to fill a 12 qt pot with hot water, can I add more water to boil iin the kettle right after it boiled once and continue to fill my pot? Or will the glass break?”

The Glass won’t break if u want to do that. I do it all the time

The bottom of the unit is not glass; thus, you'll be pouring water directly on to the stainless steel heating element, which should reduce the chance of thermal shock on the glass. Also, the kettle is made from highly durable borosilicate glass, which should further reduce the chance of thermal shock shattering.
