The Glass won’t break if u want to do that. I do it all the time

I've added cold water to a hot and just emptied unit with no problem. The bottom of the unit is not glass; thus, you'll be pouring water directly on to the stainless steel heating element, which should reduce the chance of thermal shock on the glass. Also, the kettle is made from highly durable borosilicate glass, which should further reduce the chance of thermal shock shattering.

Yes, We use this at work to heat water and is frequently refilled immediately to reheat more water. Also, This kettle gets the water very hot.
