I think that must be a misprint since right under the Defrost Cycle heading it states " Your toaster both DEFROSTS and TOASTS bread in a single cycle. I defrosted an English muffin; it just took a bit longer than if it was already thawed.

Did you or anyone reading this try using the reheat setting first to defrost, then the toast setting? I tried contacting Bella through their Facebook page but just received a boiler plate answer to take a picture of the label and send it to the help contact with my issue.
