Supposedly, it might have materials or chemicals that could cause cancer according to the State of California. It is probably something internally and not something that comes in contact with the food.

Unfortunately, the lawmakers did not consult with any technical people and listed all sorts of commonly used materials. One example is that materials such as lead and chrome that may be present in small amounts and have been used for many years without issue now cause the warning. It is so restrictive and common that it is generally ignored.
