No. It doesn’t come apart. You also can’t submerge it in water. The good news is that it has a very good nonstick coating. If you clean it right after you use it and you wipe it down with a wet paper, towel or a cloth. It is very easy to clean. But if you do not clean it right away and leave all the grease and other stuff on the coding, then yes, it will eventually be hard to clean. I have made hamburgers on it, steak, and Panini sandwiches toasted and it works really well.
