Yes you have to peel if you don't want to have bitter skin getting in your juice. The mixer won't have the peel function but it works if you just throw some orange pieces with skin.

I would recommend peeling the orange so it doesn’t give your drink a weird bitter flavor.

Taste better without orange peels in the drink.
