I just email customer service for the same toaster oven I just received it yesterday. I've checked the manual and it says to unplug it after every use I have feeling a safety issue? I'll get back to you when I have an answer from the customer support. I have the same issue and I'm thinking I need to plug it into a surge protector so I can turn it off because I can't reach where I have it plugged in. Pretty inconvenient right now but I'll let you know when I get an answer from them.

The lady even agreed that it was like having to unplug your car battery after every drive. I asked her to tell the design team that it was the dumbest thing I had ever heard. She said she would!
