• I did not have that problem. The divider fits pretty secure.

• If you are using it properly, the trays elevate the food above the base of the basket, so even if residue juice (grease) were to drift from one side to the other, it wouldn't touch the food above and affect it in any way. The exception would be if you cook several portions of something that produces a lot of excess grease and never drain the basket in between.

• The trays are in racks so I cook fries on top and chicken/meat/fish on the bottom rack so the juice does not drip on any other food.
