“Are you able to ADD normal coffee grounds that are converted to espresso? New to this type of machine. How friendly is the device to clean?”

No: The machine does not have an internal coffee grinder. Using coarser Drip grind will result in very weak coffee. This machine requires fine ground coffee for proper extraction. Most local coffee roasters sell fine / espresso GRIND coffee (NOT espresso ROAST). Or my favorite is Gevalia Special Reserve Papua New Guinea Single Origin Medium Roast Fine Ground Coffee. Or, buy whole beans and a quality burr coffee grinder.
