I used the basic bread recipe from the back of the book and didn't care for it. I downloaded a bread recipe from the internet. Put the wet ingredients first (1 cup lukewarm water, 1/3 c lukewarm milk, 3 T butter), then add dry (3 3/4 cups flour, 3 T sugar, 1 1/2 tsp salt), then add 2 tsp yeast. I did used bread flour and bread machine yeast, but the recipe just says all-purpose flour and active dry yeast or instant yeast. I had already bought the bread flour and bread machine yeast, so I used it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did not. My favorite so far is the Bread Machine Betty Crocker Whole Grain Loaf. Instead of 7 grain cereal, I add whatever I have on hand. Last time it was flax seed, oat bran and old fashion oatmeal. I make sure my water is lukewarm and add my ingredients in the order listed on the recipe. I spread out my flour/grain before adding the yeast so it doesn't activate until it is time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've been using various bread making machines for years and never had a problem until I tried a recipe from the booklet that came with this machine. Once was all it took. Even the knead and rise times are wrong. Basically, that booklet isn't much good except to give instructions on settings, and I don't even go by their specific settings sometimes, either. I went to the internet and also used my old bread machine books. I've made over 10 loaves in the last three weeks or so and not a failure in the bunch! The first one (short, dense, but tasty) got put into bread pudding, by the way. Waste not, want not!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A lot of times when making bread, people don't use the proper measuring cups, or don't use them properly. The best way it to get an accurate scale and use a bread recipe that gives the weight of the ingredients in grams, instead of volume which causes measuring errors.
