Hi Autumnelf, Yes this unit is very portable and can be moved around easily from any area in your Kitchen.The Bella Pro Series Touchscreen Air Fryer weighs approximately five pounds without food in the Fryer Basket, of course. My wife has RA and can easily move this Bella Air Fryer around our Kitchen.. . . .

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Others are saying this weighs 5 pounds. Post surgery, 5 pounds can feel VERY heavy! I consult in senior and elderly/ case manager field. At 5 pounds, if you are expecting someone with arthritis, or who tires easily, to reach down and pull out a 5 pound appliance, set up on counter, prep/ cook meal, clean, put back away - that definitely may be overwhelming to consider. If it is left in place on a countertop and not moved, and someone is coming in to do dishes and clean it, then this may be okay. That 5 pounds can feel very heavy trying to hold it in position to clean it, while maintaining balance standing up, all the while trying not to get appliance too wet. From my thinking - you need to observe your senior, elderly or disabled person closely. Notice if they are creating work-around solutions to avoid lifting or carrying items. The community is not a "one size fits all." Further, a man with more hand strength than many women and abilities to lift more, may say "no problem." Whereas a female may feel like it is just too heavy to manipulate to clean it. or even move it to sink to clean and put away. For weight issue only, i would give this 2-stars. There are better gifts for seniors and elderly for surprise gifts. On the other hand, if you are buying for a state- definition elderly person of 59, still working full time and physically active, by all means this may be a strong 5- stars.
