It is an air fryer only and not designed to accept the oil needed for a true deep fryer.

Here is the additional info from the description... Deep fryers cook foods by completely submerging them into hot oil. Air fryers act as convection ovens and circulate heated air to cook foods. Deep fryers can handle larger batches and typically cook foods faster, while air fryers use significantly less or even no oil to cook foods. I have not used ANY oil for cooking or reheating.
